3 Day Luxury Fly-In Gorilla Safari

Your luxury fly-in gorilla safari starts with an early transfer from your Entebbe or Kampala hotel to Entebbe International Airport. Check in for your scheduled domestic flight to Kihihi or Kisoro; the airstrip is chosen according to your confirmed gorilla trekking sector, lodge location, permit availability and airline schedule.

Enjoy views of Lake Victoria, farms, forests and the southwestern highlands during the approximately one-hour-and-ten-to-fifteen-minute flight. On arrival, meet your professional driver-guide and continue by private 4×4 through villages, tea plantations and terraced hills toward Bwindi.

Check into your selected luxury lodge, enjoy lunch and settle into your cottage, suite or forest villa. The afternoon is free to relax and prepare for trekking; depending on timing, optional experiences can include a community or Batwa visit, birdwatching, a forest walk or a spa treatment. Your guide will brief you on clothing, porter arrangements and the next day’s conditions before dinner.

After breakfast, take your packed lunch, drinking water and essential trekking gear to the Uganda Wildlife Authority briefing centre. Register, meet the ranger team and receive the mandatory briefing on conservation, forest safety, photography and respectful behaviour around the gorillas.

Join your assigned trekking group and enter Bwindi’s ancient rainforest with ranger guides, trackers and security personnel. The trek can take roughly two to seven hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location, weather, terrain and group pace. A porter is strongly recommended to help with your daypack and provide support on steep or slippery ground.

Once the habituated gorilla family is located, you will spend up to one permitted hour watching the group feed, rest, groom and interact. Return to the briefing point for your certificate, then relax back at the lodge with afternoon tea, a forest view, optional spa treatment or a community walk before dinner and your final night in Bwindi.

Enjoy breakfast and final rainforest or highland views at the lodge. Depending on your flight time, relax at the property or choose a short optional activity such as birdwatching, a community walk, a forest-edge nature walk, craft shopping or a spa treatment.
