    Day 1

    Kampala or Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

    Your safari begins with an early pick-up from Kampala, Entebbe or Entebbe International Airport. Meet your professional guide and depart southwest towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

    The journey passes rolling hills, traditional villages, tea plantations and beautiful countryside. Stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe for photographs and refreshments, then continue through Mbarara with lunch en route.

    Arrive in Bwindi during the evening, check into your lodge and relax while your guide briefs you about the following day’s gorilla trekking experience.

    Day 2

    Gorilla Trekking – Optional Batwa Cultural Experience

    After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a pre-trekking briefing. Enter the dense rainforest with experienced ranger guides in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

    The trek can take two to seven hours. Along the way, watch for birds, butterflies and other forest wildlife. Once the gorillas are found, spend one unforgettable permitted hour observing them feeding, grooming, playing and interacting.

    Receive your gorilla trekking certificate before returning to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, an optional Batwa community visit offers music, dance and storytelling about the traditional forest lifestyle of the indigenous Batwa people.

    Bwindi – Equator – Kampala or Entebbe

    Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and check out before beginning the scenic return journey through southwestern Uganda’s rolling hills toward Kampala or Entebbe.

    Stop for lunch in Mbarara, then pause again at the Uganda Equator for photographs, souvenirs or refreshments. Continue to Kampala, your Entebbe hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
