Rates are published by Pakuba Safari Lodge for the full calendar year (1 January – 31 December), are inclusive of 18% VAT, and should be confirmed at the time of booking. Park entrance fees, activity fees, transfers, and bar drinks are charged separately unless included in a safari package.
Understanding the Meal Plans
Pakuba offers three meal plans to suit different itineraries. Bed and Breakfast includes accommodation and breakfast. Half Board adds one main meal — either lunch or dinner. Full Board includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is the most popular choice for guests on active safari schedules who prefer the convenience of dining at the lodge after game drives and boat cruises.
The restaurant serves local and continental cuisine, with chefs emphasising fresh ingredients and home-baked bread. Packed breakfasts and lunches can normally be arranged for early departures when requested in advance. Drinks from the bar are not included in accommodation rates unless booked as part of a package.
Children's Rates
Pakuba applies the following child policy for children accompanying adults in the same room:
- Children aged three years and below: no charge
- Children aged four to twelve years: 50% of the adult rate
- Children aged thirteen years and above: charged at the adult rate
Family room rates are published for two adults and two children below twelve years of age. Larger families or groups should enquire about additional room configurations and pricing at the time of booking.
What Is Included and Excluded
Accommodation rates include the selected room, the meals associated with the chosen plan, daily housekeeping, and use of lodge facilities such as the swimming pool, restaurant, and bar areas. Wi-Fi, laundry services, and charging facilities are available according to current lodge policy.
Not included in room rates: Uganda Wildlife Authority park entrance fees, guided activity fees (game drives, boat cruises, nature walks, etc.), transport to and from the lodge, domestic flights, bar beverages, spa treatments, and gratuities. Fly-in guests should confirm whether airstrip transfers are included in their booking or arranged separately.
Booking, Payment, and Cancellation
Pakuba Safari Lodge requires full payment seven days before arrival; bookings that do not meet this requirement may be cancelled automatically. Cancellation fees apply as follows: 25% for cancellations 31–21 days before arrival; 50% for 20–14 days; and 75% for 14–4 days before arrival. Guests booking through tour operators should confirm the applicable terms with their agent.
Reservations can be made directly via reservations@pakubasafarilodge.com or through licensed Uganda safari operators. Advance booking is strongly recommended during peak seasons — June to September and December to February — when inside-park rooms are in high demand.
Long Stays and Special Rates
Guests planning stays of seven nights or more may negotiate special rates directly with the lodge. Safari operators booking multiple rooms for group departures should also enquire about allocation and pricing. Long-stay discounts can make Pakuba particularly attractive for birding groups, photographers, and researchers spending extended periods in the northern sector.
Value for Money
Compared with luxury lodges in Murchison Falls National Park, Pakuba delivers significant savings while retaining inside-park positioning, Nile views, a swimming pool, and professionally managed dining. The savings can be directed towards additional game drives, the celebrated boat cruise to the base of the falls, hot-air balloon excursions, or onward travel within Uganda. For mid-range travellers who refuse to compromise on location, Pakuba remains one of the best-value inside-park choices in the northern sector.
