Murchison Falls Only
Minimum: 2 nights / 3 days — One game drive, one boat cruise. Tight but workable if you fly in.
Recommended: 3 nights / 4 days — Upstream boat, delta or second game drive, optional Budongo chimps or Ziwa rhinos en route.
Comprehensive: 4 nights / 5 days — All of the above without rushing; time for top-of-falls hike and community visit.
Road from Entebbe: 6–7 hours each way. Fly-in cuts travel to hours but not activity days — still want 2+ full days in park.
Gorilla Trekking Add-On
Add 3 nights minimum to any savannah base: travel to Bwindi (8–10 hours road or 1 hour fly), trek day, buffer day for weather or recovery. Never schedule trek on departure day — flights miss when families are far in the forest.
Gorilla permit is date-specific (US$800, or US$600 April/May/November). Book permits first, build days around them.

Entebbe–Murchison: 6–7 hrs. Murchison–Kibale: 7–8 hrs. Kibale–Queen Elizabeth: 2–3 hrs. Queen Elizabeth–Bwindi: 5–7 hrs. Bwindi–Entebbe: 8–10 hrs. These add up — four parks by road in eight days means 30+ hours driving.
Charter flights (Entebbe–Pakuba, Pakuba–Kasese, Kihihi–Entebbe) cost US$250–400 per person per leg typically but return a full day each.
Chimpanzee Trekking Time
Add 1–2 nights at Kibale or half-day at Budongo (near Murchison). Kibale permit US$250; Budongo Kaniyo Pabidi about US$130. Habituation full-day experiences need an extra night and higher permit cost.
Season Impact on Days
Wet season (March–May, October–November): add buffer half-days — muddy roads slow transfers. Dry season: tighter scheduling works. Peak July–August and Christmas: book lodges and permits earlier, not necessarily more days.
